Who we are

Exeter Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ communities and diversity within Exeter and the surrounding regions.

We thank all those who help to make this event possible, not only the small and dedicated group of trustees and committee members but also our partners, sponsors, volunteers, and all those who assist in some way.

Meet The Trustees/ Who is involved?

Chair - Chris Scadden

I joined Exeter Pride this year as the new Chairperson  to the charity's community!

I have many roles and hats however they all have the goal of supporting our city and community

I am constantly surprised and overjoyed with the support from all parts of our community across the city and county. We are a truly diverse charity representing a wonderfully diverse city and we simply could not provide for our community in the way we do without this vital support.

Exeter Pride 2017 will mark my 23rd year of Pride and LGBT activism, my first Pride having been London Pride 1994

My goal for Exeter Pride 2017 is it to reach more of our community as we continue to grow and develop towards a spectacular celebration of our 10th year in 2018.

Secretary - Catherine Dawson

One thing I think is great about Exeter Pride is that is not just for the LGBT + Community is also a great family and friends event.

Having spent a few years in Japan, I'm the queen of karaoke!

My goal for Exeter Pride 2017 is for it to be Sunny, and something for everyone - activism, support and celebration. It's a chance for the whole city to come together and show how our diversity makes it a great place to be.

I have met so many great people through being involved with Exeter Pride and built lasting friendships.

My goal for Exeter Pride 2017 is to make it, it's biggest yet and that’s why it is so important it remains a free event for the whole Community to enjoy

PR - Alan Quick

I am a DJ on the LGBT+ scene and have done for many years.  I am also the editor of a Devon weekly newspaper.

My favourite thing about Exeter Pride is to see everyone enjoying themselves, celebrating the LGBTQ+ communities and diversity in Exeter and the surrounding regions.  It has many strands, from serious debate to information, advice, to celebrating and saying we are here in the community.

Fun Fact- I'm a Twitter addict @thealanquick

My goal for Exeter Pride 2017 is for it to continue to grow, not just as a day-long celebration but increasing the social and serious sides all year long.  It has the potential to influence and represent and be a real driving force for LGBTQ+ issues.

I want Exeter Pride 2017 to be bigger and welcome an even a larger diverse group.  Exeter is a fantastic community to live in and I would love for Exeter Pride to be the key cultural event within the community.
